Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, award winning Larry Peninsula has brought traditional country music to a new audience in Europe. Larry writes about dreamers, honky tonks, drifters and about being an outsider. His song’s are often praised for his Marty Stuart style twangy guitar work.
Larry Peninsula has been performing extensively in his native country of Finland while expanding his reach further to perform shows in the United States, Germany, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Gran Canaria and Bulgaria. Larry has opened for Drake Milligan, Doug Seegers, Ward Hayden & The Outliers, J.Karjalainen Steve ‘n’ Seagulls and a Grammy Award winning Redd Volkaert. Larry’s music has been featured on Whiskey Riff, Saving Country Music and Nashville.com.
In October 2025 Larry won the “Rising Star Of The Year” -award at Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards held in Marshall, Texas.
As a side project Peninsula shares the stage with his Finnish colleagues as “The Finnish Highwaymen” performing the songs of the country music supergroup Highwaymen.
Larry has built a career honouring the country music legends while still forging his own path as a European country artist. Larry has teamed up with a seasoned A&R and producer Tom Frisk to produce the awaited follow-up album to his critically acclaimed debut “Country Music Only”.
-Peninsula wrote the theme song “Gold Panning Only” for the World Gold Panning Championships in 2019. The song was a part of the advertisement campaign on National Geographic TV-channel with Ville Haapasalo.
Larry recorded the song “Kantriäijät” with the Finnish legend Mikko Alatalo.
