Larry Peninsula is a country artist based in Helsinki, Finland. He started his career in 2009 in his hometown of Oulu, Finland. Peninsula received wider recognition with his debut album “Country Music Only” that included the hit song of the same name. The album was well reviewed in medias such as Saving Country Music and Country Music Life. Country Music Only song held on to #1 spot on Country Music Life’s “Top New Country Music” chart for 13 weeks. Larry has performed with The Wallace Brothers Band from Philadelphia, George Highfill, opened for Doug Seegers and Shota Adamashvili from the Republic of Georgia. In Finland Larry has headlined several country music festivals.
Peninsula wrote the theme song “Gold Panning Only” for the World Gold Panning Championships in 2019. The song was a part of the advertisement campaign on National Geographic TV-channel with Ville Haapasalo.
Larry recorded the song “Kantriäijät” with the Finnish legend and Vain Elämää star Mikko Alatalo. The single “Rockfaces” was also in the headlines for it’s controversial music video. Larry Peninsula has performed in Finland, Sweden, Russia, Latvia, Estonia and in the United States. In 2022 he opened for the Grammy award winning Redd Volkaert and performed on Finnish TV for the first time. Larry was one of the stars at Mikko Alatalo’s 70th Birthday Show in Tampere talo.
Larry Peninsula is currently working on his second album with producer Tom Frisk. the first single “Bandwagon” will be released in February 2024.
His passion and guitar work blazes through, and his songwriting holds up in any language. Country music won’t be bordered and Larry Peninsula is living proof.
